The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, yesterday dissociated itself from the alleged move to declare a Republic of Biafra on November 5 by the Biafra Zionist Movement.
According to the MASSOB Director of Publicity and his deputy, Uchenna Madu and Chris Mocha respectively, the MASSOB leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike had threatened to invite security operatives should the faceless group destabilise the peaceful atmosphere now being enjoyed in the zone in the name of declaration of Biafra Republic.
His words, “MASSOB will partner with police to deal with any person or groups under the coverof Biafra to cause mayhem on 5th November”.
The group threatening to declare Biafra Republic are expelled members of MASSOB, Madu said.
Uwazuruike had cautioned the dissident group that he would not allow them to make mockery of “the new Biafran struggle” many of us had sacrified our lives and are winning the battle for sovereignty”.
“Security reports have been lodged at police divisions throughout Anambra and other South East states as proactive measures even as N500,000 was placed on each of the three key leaders”
